CeNTI participates in R&D projects under the domain of High Tech fibres and flexible multi-component materials. HTP fibres is CeNTI’s technological brand within this field. HTP fibres, uses the next generation materials, such as high performance and high temperature polymers, to provide innovative fibres towards new target market with higher specialized and high added-value products. The technology employed is new multi-component high temperature melt spinning line. POWERFIBRES - Nanostructured conductive fibres The project PowerFibres main objective is the development of nanostructured conductive fibers (based on PET) with different levels (rates) of conductivity. This project main innovation is the creation of different products to meet several applications, having in mind the conductivity level required for each one of them. The project promoter is Fitexar, having CeNTI and PIEP as partners and is supported by ADI – Agência de Inovação, S.A. Color effects in bi-component fibres The main goal is the development of a bi-component fibre with a blend of 2 different polymers mixed with 2 different dyestuff (and therefore colours) Fibres development and processing using high temperature polymers Using the Pilot Bi/Tricomponent melt spinning, polymers with working conditions up to 450ºC, are being developed and processed into textile fibres.
