CeNTI participates in R&D projects in the domains of smart materials and sensors-actuators systems. LFS systems is CeNTI’s technological brand within this field. LFS Systems, uses state of the art light & flexible materials and software to build smart systems which significantly improve data monitoring and communications. LFS Systems are user friendly and will definitely contribute to improve personal quality of life. Set-up and application of photovoltaics cells in automotive and aeronautic structures System and set-up development for the application of flexible photovoltaics cells (plus all generation and storage energy systems) in structures with relevance for automotive and aeronautic vehicles. Incorporation of sensors-actuators systems onto apparel products The main goals are the development of an innovative set of apparel products, with sensing and actuation capabilities in order to improve users quality of life Deposition of sensors/actuators on inorganic substrates The main goal is the development of materials with sensing/actuation properties through the deposition of piezoelectric materials Sensing-actuating systems in hygiene products Research on new sensors-actuators in hygiene products in order to improve users quality of life Functional materials polarization studies The main goals are polarizing studies and respective analysis in high and low temperature treatments. The polarization stability will be measured trough different time periods. This work is coordinated by Senentxu Lanceros Mendez (Physics department of Minho University). PV Thin film Measuring set-up
The goal of this project is to develop an experimental setup that will allow thin films and solar cells characterization. For this purpose three different experiments (that will use the same basic experimental setup) are being assembled: photoconductivity, spectral response and measurement of I-V curve of solar cells. These experiments will allow to measure and calculate several parameters such as the photoconductivity of thin films, solar cell’s efficiency, fill factor, maximum power, open circuit voltage and spectral response. This work is coordinated by João Pedro Alpuim (Physics department of Minho University).
