The Centre for nanotechnology and Smart Materials (CeNTI) is a new research, development and prototyping facility. It provides help in boosting advanced fibres, multi-nanocoatings, smart materials and the real performance of products in order to reach to market quickly by offering facilities and expertise that are rarely available in-house. This reduces the client’s level and risk of capital investment. CeNTI has brought together highly qualified people in research, development and prototyping materials to include in products for several applications (well-being & health, sports, protection, automotive, aeronautic, renewable energy devices, fashion, etc.).

 

Nowadays, the outstanding advances in new materials and nanotechnology are already taking the leap to many aspects of our daily lives, including textiles and leather applications. Fibers that produce energy while you walk, photovoltaic textiles for window blinds, stimuli reactive garments, , self-cleaning trousers, underwear that monitors your health, textile insulating materials that make you home more energy sustainable. These are just some of the promising prospects of the next textile and leather (r)evolution. Those are fantastic properties but evaluation and assessment are extremely important in order to assure products quality and safety. Therefore, CeNTI also develops techniques for use simulation in order to assess products performance.

 

Due to the increasing number of issues revolving around a business, companies often feel overwhelmed by this rush of events. CeNTI is the bridge between these two worlds.
