A seminar organized by ITeCons and Centro Habitat was held last week in Coimbra. Maria José Machado, from CeNTI, talked about the application of Nanotechnology in and for Energy Efficient Builings, and presented the final results of the project Nano@Contrução.

Textiles become photovoltaic

European Commission has selected DEPHOTEX among 450 projects and was one of the 50 projects on display in the exhibition INNOVATION CONVENTION 2011 (5-6 December 2011).

New technologies@CeNTI Printing, Coating and Electronics Assembling

During September and October 2011, in addition to the already existing Inkjet printer and physical coating, technologies such as Printing, Coating and Electronics Assemblingwere installed at CeNTI:

SMT (Surface Mount Technology) line: pick and place, soldering, oven and assembling line, for the development of electronics for sensors, system controllers, lighting components, switches, etc.
Screen printer and a Smartcoater tool equipped with roll to roll dipping, micro-roller printing, gravure printing, slot-die coating, knife coating and drying, for the development of organic electronics and functional coatings, such as electroluminescent devices, OPVs (Organic Photovoltaics), electrochromic devices and advanced coatings.

Additional technologies will be installed within the next months, so stay tuned.

RadTech Europe 2011 Conference

Thursday, 20th October, Joana Branquinho from CeNTI, presented "UV curable textile finishes: Superhydrophobic and oleophobic, side-specific, dual finish treatment of cotton for apparel, home, technical and sport textiles", in RadTech Europe 2011 Conference, in Basel, Switzerland.

CeNTI at CONCRETA/ENDIEL

From 18th to 22th Oct, CeNTI will be at CONCRETA/ENDIEL (Booth 4E86), in Porto - Exponor, presenting its potentials in electronics and construction.
