48th Man-Made Fibers Congress, Dornbirn, Austria
2009, September - The 48th Dornbirn Man-Made Fibers Congress organized by the Austrian Man-Made Fibers Institute took place last 16th to 18th September with a list of more than 100 lectures of experts from several countries.

This year dedicated to environmental issues, the main topics were:

  • New developments in fibers (incl. nano technologies)
  • Fibers for medical- and hygenic textiles (incl. Smart Textiles, Liabilities)
  • Fibers for composites, transportation and professional wear
  • Fibers and textiles in connection with the climate change (Water Management, Geotextiles, Agrotextiles)
  • EU Research Projects

CeNTI has participated with two lectures under the congress topic "New Developments in Fibers" (Nanotechnologies/Bi-component Fibers):

  • "Novel surface engineering and nanocoating technologies for Muntifunctional textiles" by António Vieira
  • "Bi-component fibers using high temperature polymers" by Ana Ribeiro
The organizer considered the number of participants satisfactory despite the actual world crisis.
