
DOSEA: Smart solution for drug therapy
CeNTI, in cooperation with two Portuguese companies Neutroplast and BeyonDevices, is developing smart tags for monitoring medication. Incorporated in the medicine package, this solution will be able to issue different alert messages, ensuring the correct and on-time intaking of the medicine.
In addition to significantly increasing treatment efficacy and patient safety, this technology also aims to contribute to the preservation and monitoring of medication at the adequate temperature and humidity.
The monitoring device, which is intended to be discreet and intuitive, will be integrated into different types of medication packages, including packages of low-cost blisters or bottles of liquid medication. The solution, suitable for clinical and domestic use, is based on emerging technologies, such as smart packaging, printed electronics and IoT.
The innovative technology already publicizes at the national Portuguese TV RTP in the "TECH 3" program, promises to revolutionize the pharmaceutical and hospital sectors, as well as the health and well-being of society.
The Project was co-financed by Portugal 2020, under the Operational Program for Competitiveness and Internationalization, in the amount of 495 thousand euros from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
