Portuguese Press highlights CeNTI innovation against Covid-19

Several media reported what is one of the most recent CeNTI Projects against the current Covid-19 pandemic.

The Centre, in partnership with the company Moldit - Indústria de Moldes and the Centro Clínico Académico de Braga (Portugal), is developing an individual, reusable and innovative protection visor, with antiviral and anti-fog properties.

In the news articles on the topic, João Gomes, CeNTI's Director of Operations, says that the equipment should be on the market "in the coming months".

In addition to Dinheiro Vivo, the Project was publicized on RUM - Rádio Universitária do Minho and in the newspapers Correio da Manhã, O Minho and Cidade Hoje.

About the Mould2Protection Project

To help combat Covid-19, CeNTI is developing a reusable and innovative personal protection visor, with antiviral and anti-fog properties.

In addition to having a new design, the visor will be easier to put on than traditional solutions, ensuring its user greater comfort and safety.

Its production will be done through an injection moulding process to produce the fixing ring and the visor that will end up as a complete solution. Additional protection will be provided by anti-viral and anti-fog coatings, which will ensure a greater degree of protection for the user.

Reuse will also be one of its main advantages, contributing to sustainability and environmental protection.

The project is led by the Nanotechnology Centre with the support of the Centro Clínico Académico de Braga (Portugal) and Moldit, a company specialized in the production of moulds and plastic components.

Designated Mould2Protection, it is financed by national funds through FCT - Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, within the scope of the Special Support RESEARCH4COVID-19.
