Portuguese Press highlights UVtizer's impact on fighting COVID-19
Various media, such as Dinheiro Vivo, Jornal Económico, and Sapo Tek, highlighted the importance and functionalities of UVtizer, an innovative multifunctional device that allows disinfecting air and surfaces of various materials without the application of chemical agents.
The technology was created by a consortium composed of CeNTI, Instituto de Medicina Molecular João Lobo Antunes (iMM), and Portuguese companies Castros SA and Matglow to fight infectious diseases at a high level of contagion, as is the case COVID-19.
At the basis of this innovation is the integration of UV-C light in the UVtizer device. The equipment also incorporates sensing systems, robotics, mechanics, ventilation, and functionalization of materials that ensure sanitation quickly and effectively.
The equipment allows to disinfect the air and sanitize surfaces in floors, coverings, and furniture of various materials, such as wood, plastics, metals, textiles, and ceramics.
It can be used in hospitals, public transport, meeting and congress rooms, commercial spaces, schools and kindergartens, hotels, gymnasiums, and home use.
UVtizer is a national Copromotion – I&D Empresas COVID-19 Projet, co-financed by Portugal 2020, under the Operational Programme for Competitiveness and Internationalization (COMPETE 2020) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
