CeNTI takes to Germany the best of Portuguese nanotechnology
The focus is nanotechnology developed in the North of Portugal and the goal is to present innovative products made in close proximity to Portuguese companies in the technical textiles sector with application in different areas such as construction, hospital/medical care, sport, fashion and home textile, and focusing on the automotive sector and specifically the materials for the automotive interior of the future. This is why CeNTI - Centre of Nanotechnology and Smart Materials is present at two of the largest sectoral events taking place during the month of May in Germany, at Frankfurt and Stuttgart.
An ecological clothing line made from waste, innovative felts that enhance water absorption and drying and have intelligent heating, mattress guards that prevent pressure ulcers, technical clothing with sensing systems, as well as innovative lighting solutions and sensing for car interiors are some of the products that visitors at Techtextil in Frankfurt and Automotive Interiors Expo in Stuttgart can interact with in the CeNTI exhibition space. More than demonstrating innovative products, the Centre also takes off with the ambition of sharing experiences and acquiring important knowledge for Research and Technical Development of new solutions.
João Gomes, Chief Operations Officer at CeNTI, states that "we are very pleased that we can be present in these spaces that have a lot of visibility and respect notoriety for our Centre, but also for Portugal.
At this moment, Portugal is on an excellent path with regard to Research and Development, following the new trends and anticipating the future and the result of this is the Techtextil award that we won in the category of Sustainable Solution with the PiCASSO Project promoted by the national company TINTEX Textiles in collaboration with CeNTI, CITEVE and other business promoters such as Ervital and Bioinvitro”.
Têxteis J. F. Almeida, CITEVE, Têxteis Penedo, IPCA, Continental – Indústria Têxtil do Ave, TMG Automotive, Borgstena Group Portugal, Scorecode – Têxteis, Viatel – Tecnologias de Comunicações, ComfortKeepers and Simoldes Plásticos are some of the companies that will be represented with projects carried out in partnership and co-promotion with CeNTI and that until May 23 are in Germany to represent what is best done in Portugal.
