The mobilizing project STVgoDigital is a structuring project of the Portuguese Textile Cluster: Technology and Fashion, being aligned with one of its strategic pillars – Industry 4.0 and Digitization. This project encompass a set of R&D initiatives with a strong collective character and a high inducing and demonstrating effect, with the central involvement of companies in the Textile and Clothing sector, and other complementary sectors that enhance the adoption and transition to the new paradigm of Industry 4.0, in order to promote the digital transformation of all value chain, leading to productivity and efficiency growing of each company and subsequently the entire supply chain, promote a new digital and circular ecosystem that will bring an integrated vision between the supplier, production, distributor and consumer, facilitate the access to new markets / business areas or the strengthening of the current ones, and develop highly innovative products and process, through the use of emergent and cutting-edge technologies allowing  new experiences to consumer and participating companies.; The project consortium consists of 16 companies and 7 R&D entities, being the leading promoter the company TMG – Textiles for Clothing and Decoration, SA, under the technical coordination of CITEVE, and is structured in 6 PPS (Products, Processes and Services) that aim at the development of innovative solutions in different areas. These PPS were built from 7 core activities which will result in 9 new solutions.

Main goals

PPS1 – Sustainable and circular Textile R&D 4.0: development of innovative solution that allows the Portuguese Textile Cluster to deliver to the customer a complete product, with the addition of the data dimension (product ID);

PPS2 – Supply chain 4.0: development of a system for intermediation between the different agents of a chain, defining an interaction / communication / coordination protocol that allows each agent to interact, question and respond to requests from other agents in the chain, in an interoperable way;

PPS3 – Fashion Ecosystem 4.0: development of a system that allows to respond to smaller and more frequent orders, reaching unit production, due to a greater demand for personalized products and of local or regional nature, at both level of creativity and production capacity;

PPS4 – Worker 4.0: development of an innovative solution centered on assisting movements performed by the STV worker, which will increase safety and comfort in the workplace, performance and worker's ability to operate with the expected flexibility of production;

PPS5 – Artificial intelligence for ITV 4.0: creation of a platform for quality analysis of materials and textile products, with intensive use of techniques and algorithms for image processing and artificial intelligence;

PPS6 – Management, dissemination, and results exploitation.

PPS1 – Sustainable and Circular Textile R&D 4.0:

  • Definition of Environmental and Social Performance Indicators;
  • Textile identification proofs of concept, sustainability/circularity index, platform/service for textile and clothing extend with ID.

PPS3 – Fashion Ecosystem 4.0:

  • Proof of concept.

PPS4 – Worker 4.0:

  • Exoskeleton proof of concept (ergonomics and functional).
