The iDOURECA project is composed of a consortium that joins Doureca, CeNTI, and PIEP, which aims the enhancement the interactions between the user and the car while maintaining aesthetic and decorative features. It will be developed polymeric molded parts by injection technologies for both interior and exterior automotive vehicle. iDOURECA comprises two main R&D lines for the development of functional and decorative parts. The first aims at the development of a car exterior product with chrome effect and invisible to RADAR, being also incorporated with de-icing and protection against external agents' functionalities. The de-icing system will be embedded and developed by technologies of printed electronics or PVD. The second line of R&D aims at the development of a three-dimensional automotive interior product with functional and decorative properties. The part should comprise integrated and embedded sensing with gestures and/or touch detection ability, having also a textured appearance and giving the polymer injection molded part the look of noble material. It is also intended to have surface properties of anti-fingerprinting and/or easy cleaning. The proposed R&D line will be implemented in the productive cycle of the leading company, Doureca, culminating in prototypes with the pretended functionalities named previously.
