Adaptive light steel frame wall panel for construction or renovation
The SMARTLSF project aims at developing an innovative cold-formed steel profile for use in LSF constructions. The final system will have the unique feature of being dynamic in all three dimensions through the development of extensible profiles and composite components integrated into the LSF structure. The SMARTLSF project also intends to contribute to improving the sustainability, efficiency and economy of the LSF constructive system.
Within the scope of the SMARTLSF project, the aim is to develop a dynamic and innovative light steel system that overtakes efficiently the limitations associated with the use of commercial profiles and that promotes the sustainability, flexibility and efficiency of the LSF constructive system. The project will explore different lines of research for the final system, such as extensible metallic profile, composite components and constructive system.
Main goals
- Development of an extensible profile, which allows the LSF elements to be easily adjust to the particularities and design requirements, without the need for multiple cuts and connections between profiles or splices;
- Development of a composite component, which should serve as a profile connector and when integrated with the LSF structure allows reducing thermal bridges, extensibility in the zz direction and to monitor the thermal and mechanical behavior of the structure;
- Development of the constructive system, which should be dynamic in all three dimensions and facilitating its transportation and installation.
