Description:
CeNTI is strengthening the Functional Materials department.
We are looking for a motivated professional with interest and experience in formulation, surface functionalisation, and environment testing and simulation, with active involvement in R&D projects.
The selected candidate will participate in R&D technical activities focused on:
- Formulation development and optimisation, supporting the transition from laboratory to pilot or industrial scale through the optimisation of mixing and dispersion processes, as well as key formulation performance parameters.
- Scale-up and process optimisation of surface functionalisation processes, including the operation of pilot lines, equipment adaptation and the use of process simulation tools, where necessary.
- Environmental testing and simulation, aimed at improving the performance of materials and surfaces through characterisation techniques and testing under controlled environments and real or simulated use conditions.
Specific requirements:
- MSc or equivalent in Chemical Engineering, Processes Engineering or similar;
- Experience in the optimisation and adaptation of equipment and/or process parameters (for pilot-scale formulation and coating operations);
- Knowledge and experience in coating technologies and surface treatment processes;
- Experience with pilot or industrial lines will be valued;
- Knowledge of thermal management concepts and heat transfer mechanisms;
- Experience in testing under simulated real-use environments, including the use of climatic chambers, will be valued;
- Knowledge and experience in numerical simulation and prediction tools (e.g. Ansys, Python) for materials and process optimisation will be valued;
- Strong teamwork skills, flexibility and adaptability to R&D challenges;
- Good communication skills, with fluency in spoken and written English required.
