CeNTI -
AM2R Project featured in Portuguese media

AM2R – Mobilising Agenda for Business Innovation in the Two-Wheel sector was highlighted in Portuguese media, namely ECO, Jornal T, Opinião Pública, Cidade Hoje, Press Minho, O Amarense e Terras do Homem. The articles highlighted the pioneering nature of the solutions being developed with CeNTI’s know-how, which combine safety, connectivity, and sustainability to address the challenges of urban mobility.
Among the prototypes under development within the Project’s scope is a high-visibility jacket that integrates reflective and phosphorescent elements.
The innovation extends to a smart backpack, produced from textile and composite waste, incorporating an LED matrix to signal changes in direction and braking, as well as a proximity detection system capable of identifying nearby vehicles and sending tactile alerts to the user.
Ergonomic bicycle grips are also being developed, featuring active side lighting and an encoder to signal directional changes. These include haptic feedback through vibration to alert users to dangerous situations.
Advanced signaling and sensing systems are also under development. When combined with infrastructure such as support modules on cycle paths, these systems will inform users of various events on the road, including roadworks, accidents, closed roads, adverse weather conditions, traffic intensity, and the direction and speed of cyclists and scooters.
AM2R's solutions have garnered considerable interest at international trade fairs, confirming the disruptive nature of a Project that aims to strengthen the competitiveness of the two-wheel industry in Portugal.
AM2R is funded by the European Commission's Recovery and Resilience Facility.
