CeNTI -

Are nanomaterials safe and sustainable? – An innovative quantitative approach will assess these materials

Projects

CeNTI is the only Portuguese organisation in the INTEGRANO consortium, a Project that brings together 13 strategic partners. Developed by organisations from 8 countries, the research aims to create an innovative, integrated and multidimensional quantitative approach to ensure the safety and sustainability of nanomaterials throughout their life cycle.

In line with the SSbD - Safe and Sustainable by Design guidelines, this European initiative will enable assessments in real-world application scenarios, guaranteeing that new solutions and products meet the highest standards of safety, eco-efficiency, functionality and economic, social and environmental impact from the outset.

In this context, a digital platform was created to support decision-making and promote the responsible adoption of nanotechnologies. Find out more HERE. This advanced tool will help scientists, entrepreneurs, and policy-makers in the European Union, reducing development time and costs, promoting transparency, facilitating the responsible use of nanomaterials and minimising impacts on health, the environment and the climate.
