Aimed at Industry, POEMS - Portuguese Competence Centre in Semiconductors is an initiative that intends to support and boost Portuguese companies in the development of innovative products and processes in the area of semiconductors and emerging technologies - such as flexible electronics, integrated photonics and the production of new generation sensors -, enhancing their competitiveness on an international scale.

The POEMS consortium comprises 16 partners, including CeNTI, and is led by the INL - International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory. This initiative is part of a European network of competence centres that aims to position Europe as one of the global leaders in research, innovation and production in the semiconductor sector.

CeNTI collaborates in multiple activities and is responsible for the work package related to the technological solutions that POEMS can offer its users.

Lasting four years, the Project has been co-funded by the (Portuguese) Foundation for Science and Technology and the European Union's Chips Joint Undertaking (Chips JU) Programme.
